International road transport

International Road transport

International road transport is defined as the transport by road between two places (a place of loading and a place of unloading) in two different countries irrespective of the country in which the vehicle is registered. It is composed of 4 categories

  • International loaded: Place of loading of goods in reporting country (i.e. country in which the vehicle performing the transport is registered) and place of unloading in a different country
  • International unloaded: Place of unloading of goods in reporting country (i.e. country in which the vehicle
performing the transport is registered) and place of loading in a different country
  • Cross-trade is international road transport between two different countries performed by a road motor vehicle registered in a third country. A third country is a country other than the country of loading/embarkation and than the country of unloading/disembarkation. This transport is reported by the country in which the vehicle is registered.
  • Cabotage is road transport by a motor vehicle registered in a country performed on the national territory of another country.
